RED RUSSIAN KALE

A very hardy plant grown for its nutritious, baby tender leaves and
here-seed for the next season for sprouting and planting.
One of the most frost hardy plants grown at our farm. You will
want to thin these to 3 inches apart. by harvesting for culinary use,
then thin 6 inches. The seeds grow in the second year on this biennial
plant from yellow flowers at the tops and will self sow in the fall if
not harvested.
We harvest the fresh, nutritious leaves right up until Thanksgiving
or later here in New Hampshire, USA
Kale can be eaten fresh or steamed like spinach. The fresh, baby,
tender leaves are excellent in a salad mix! |
