Each sunflower plant can produce over a dozen flowers! Shown here is our bright yellow flowers but we also get pale yellow and light peach multi-branched sunflowers in our seed garden as well! Next season I'll plan to take photos of the two other colors. |
These beautiful and tall multi-branched sunflower plants have a very sturdy central stem that produces many branches with lots of flowers! They are excellent for cutting and we sell many of these beautiful flowers at the local farmers' markets. They will last up to a week in a vase as cut flowers for most folks. We recommend planting in zones 4-8, after danger of frost but they readily self seed in our 4-5 zone farm and come up right before the time we get ready to plant corn here. They can be transplanted and moved before they are 6 inches high in case you wish to put them at the borders or in their own area as they grow quite tall and the birds just love the seeds in late fall!. |
